Undergraduate minor

Minor in bioengineering at Oregon

Bioengineering resides at the interface of engineering and the natural sciences, and students with a thorough knowledge of both have what鈥檚 necessary for innovation and problem solving. A minor in bioengineering can complement a students鈥 primary major, given the alignment of the minor with majors such as biology, chemistry and biochemistry, human physiology, and physics. Students will apply their natural science background toward bioengineering problems, research, and innovations.

Curriculum overview

  • The minor begins with 鈥淔undamentals of Bioengineering鈥 courses over the span of three terms, emphasizing experiential design and problem-solving skills.
  • Upper-division coursework offers a chance to take specialized bioengineering courses tailored around Knight Campus research areas.

Careers in bioengineering

Completing the bioengineering minor is a great way to prepare for a career in the biotech industry or to pursue graduate training in bioengineering, medicine, or law.
